Program Scheduler

Post by rockdj »

Hi Bernd,

For a few weeks I've been having problems with my program scheduler. Every day from 10:00 -12:00 there is a program (Classic Rock) That should repeat itself every day. But every time my normal daily program is also scheduled at the same time..So there are 2 programs listed at the same time. Could you tell me what is wrong with it? (see added file)

You should not schedule 2 programs at the same time - only one program can run at the same time.
So I am not sure what you want to achieve. Can you explain.

I'm not running two programs at the same time. I will try to explain what is happening. During the day I have two time slots when a different program is scheduled. (from 10-12 and from 20-22 hr).
For both programs, I'm using the exact same settings. But the scheduled programm form 10-12 hr gets "overruled" by my normal daily program. So , first the scheduled program runs perfect.

The next day if I take a look at my program scheduler, that program form the day before is "overruled" by another program.
Like I said befor, this only happens at the time slot 10-12 hr. The program from 20-22 hr (with exact the same settings) gives no problems. So that's the problem.

Ok, when you take a look at the attached file in my first post, you will see my program scheduler. The programs with the "green" colors are my regular daily programs. The "colored" programs are only listed every day from 10-12 hr. When you take a good luck at the "pink colored" programs you can see that it's been "overruled" by a "grey" colored program. And that program is my regular daily program. That should not happen.
To make it hopefully clear for you, I've attached my program scheduler entries for the "pink" colored program.

To solve the problem I have used the Overlay Scheduler. And that works fine. But I noticed that in the overlay player no meta data (e.g. songtitle, albumcover...) is sent to my webplayer. Is this correct?

I am sorry, but I still do not understand: What do you mean by "overruled"?
Please post your exact program scheduler entries in questions - otherwise I will not know what you mean...

ProppFrexx doesn't have any logic of "overruling" program entries! So that might be a misunderstanding.
Just by adding a second/parallel program entry, you wouldn't overrule the initial one!

What I see, is that you have sometimes scheduled 2 programs in parallel : the 'gray' and the 'pink' once.
Both are equally treated at this point (as ProppFrexx doesn't know any priority of them).
Finally it is rather random which one takes place.
As said above: You should not schedule 2 programs at the same time!

It also looks you are still using a quite older version of ProppFrexx ;-)

I am not sure, if you need to use the Overlay Scheduler - as you still do not explain what you want to achieve...

However, No, you can define in the Overlay Entry (see the overlay edit dialog - property 'Title Updates') how and if to update the streaming song titles.
Note, that you might (in addition) exclude certain media entry types in general from title updates (see general settings, section 'Streaming').

I think we not fully understand each other, so I will try to explain what exact the problem is.
Daily I,ve scheduled one program (every hour)in the program scheduler, except from 10-12 hr and from 20-22 hr. In these two timeslots, there is a different program scheduled. (the pink colored programs)

And at that time (10-12 and 20-22 hr) there are no 2 programs scheduled at the same time.
The settings in the program editor for both the scheduled programs are exact the same.

The scheduled program form 20-22 hr gives no problems at all. But the scheduled program from 10-12 hr is giving the same problem every day. Every next day...the daily program is scheduled parallel at the pink colored pogram.
This is remarkable because the daily (grey colored) program is not scheduled at that time. But still, it comes back at that time every day (10-12)

It's also remarkabele that the scheduled program (20-22 hr) with the same settings as 20-22 hr, gives no problems at all.
And so that's my problem. I want to achieve that only one program runs daily from 10-12 hr..... :P

In your scheduler image you posted initially I do see 2 parallel entries between 10-12h.
The pink and the gray one.
If you only want one program, why don't you delete the 2nd one?

If that is still unclear please send me your calendar file with an explanation what you want.
So who created the gray colored entries?
