Hi Bernd,
I'm trying to auto post an e-mail that includes the moderatortext from files that are played in overlays

I tried using control commands in overlay like this EXEC_SEND_EMAIL [email protected]|xxxx@xxxx|#xxxx| ${moderatortext}

the mail was sent but empty no moderatortext variable
I suppose that is because the variable is from the file played, and not from the overlay.
The situation is, those overlays are playing some random cultural announcement and I don't want to update each anouncement, but only those played in a specific overlay.

Hope my English was clear enough to understand my issue.

That answers my question..
I just ound an alternative solution, I'm now using a dedicated script in some specific overlays.. it's just a copy of the script but with the ${moderatortext} send mail function...

What exact 'event' are you using to trigger the EXEC_SEND_EMAIL command?

Note, that the ${moderatortext} macro is a track related macro, thus it can only be used with track related events, i.e. any direct track control command events (e.g. On Track Played), the Playlist.OnTrackPlay (which of course isn't triggered with an overlay) or the Streaming.OnSongTitleChanged event and of course the Scheduler.OnOverlayTrackPlay.

I just made a quick test here with the "Scheduler.OnOverlayTrackPlay" event and it worked just fine!
So are you sure, that
a) you are using a track related event ?
b) your moderator text is persistently stored to your audio file ?
