Mic. not working

I use Proppfrexx for non stop right now but in the nearby future i will also make dj shows on mijn stream. When i plugin a microfoon in the computer (no extern mixingpanel right now) the microphone is not working. On mijn soundcard there is a signal and i can here my voice.
is there a special setting in the input/output setting i have to install?
