Overlay scheduler vs overlays in script
Hello Bernd,
We use the overlay scheduler, and insert our advertising breaks but also our weather updates and others in there.
I noticed that if i have a script where I have also inserted the overlays for instance my advertising breaks, it will not play the weather overlay that i did not insert in my script, but is only added in the overlay scheduler?
For some scripts I add the advertising overlays in the scripts cause it's easier for the dj to see where the add break comes.
In other scripts it's not neccesary to add them in the script.
Does PF make a difference between overlays who are added in a script, and the overlays I only add in the overlay scheduler? Is a combination possible?
Kind regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Yes, this behavior is by design, as ProppFrexx is not knowing why and for what reason you wanted to separate and mix script related and overlay related stuff. As such and to ensure, that overlays are not played twice, it is an either or principle.
I.e. when you schedule some overlays via a script within a certain program, no regular overlay scheduler entry will be triggered anymore.
So it is really an either/or decision. But you can not combine or mix overlays - they all must come either from the overlay scheduler or from the script/playlist.
If you want the breaks of adverts always visible to the DJ, you can always resolve the overlays to the playlist…
