Playlist settings

Post by Enkaavee »

Hi,

Who can help us with the correct settings for our playlist?
We are a carnival radio station.

Is there a manual or topic about this somewhere?

We have 3 music categories: A, B, and C folder.
A is the best, C the least.
For example, we have a playlist in the order: A, B, A, A, C, B, A, A, ....
We want all the songs in the folder to be played. So, all the songs in a folder have to play before the same song is played again.
We also have songs with the same artist. Can we adjust the settings here to determine the time between two songs by the same artist?

Who can help us?

Take a look to the Tutorial Videos.
You can define the sequence you mentioned via individual script-Lines.
Define 3 media libraries A,B,C
Use the LastRecentPlayed script-line mode to achieve what you explained.

The Artist repeat option can be defined with the global history option in the general settings.

This has been running for two years, with three media folders.
And this with the LastRecentPlayed setting.
We suspect that not all songs are playing before it starts again.
Looking at the song counter, it should be roughly the same for all songs, right?
How can we check this?

You can press ALT+2 on a track in the Find Window or Playlist to see the last played date and the play counter.
You can also make the play counter visible in the playlist view (see the Column Chooser).

But no, the counter might not be equal for all tracks.
Here are some examples, why not.
Some songs are more often picked from the Lib A, as this occurs more often.
If you are using the extended history check, you might have a bias for certain Album or Artists, as some might be skipped to not violate your Artist, Album or Title repeat rules.
Not sure, if you are using other filters, restrictions or additional rules… but the above two are probably already changing it slightly.
