Player empty on Tagger

Post by claudius06 »

Hello,
I’m having an issue with the Tagger app. When I try to listen to a track, the player window opens but it’s empty (white background). Do you have any idea what might be causing this?
Thank you for your help,
Claude.

No idea - is you output device working?
However, I can not reproduce your issue.

What version are you using? If not the latest, try upgrading to the latest v4.5.2.4.

Hello Bernd,
Thank you for your answer.
Yes, my output device seems OK and my version is the previous one v4.5.2.3. So I'll upgrade it to the new and I'll check.

When did it start? Maybe you just need to reboot your machine?

I restarted the computer and installed the update. I now get audio coming from Tagger (but it was because I had made a mistake when selecting the output device).
However, I still get a white window with no player, which also remains “stuck” on the taskbar (so it’s not a pop-up).
I tried launching Tagger only without PF, but I get the same result.
I should mention that I replaced one of my two screens a week ago, but I don’t know if it is related to this bug. I also confirm that the player displays correctly in PFL mode with ProppFrexx.
What do you think about uninstalling Tagger and reinstalling it, if that’s possible? If so, how can I reinstall it?

What player Windows of the Tagger do you mean if not the PFL Player?
I thought it was the PFL Player. Can you please send a screenshot- and check, if there is any error message?

The Tagger is part of the regular ProppFrexx installation. Eg. you can not install or deinstall it separately.
But I doubt, that this will help.

Note, that the stand-alone Tagger application can and should not be mixed with the ProppFrexx OnAir installation.

I may have expressed myself poorly. It is indeed the PFL player that I am trying to open from Tagger. Here is a screenshot (sorry for the photo quality).

The screenshot looks a bit strange to me, as the fonts and proportions of the title, text and other screens are a bit funky.
However, I have never seen this before or any other user reported anything like this - so I doubt, that this is a general bug.

As you have already installed the latest ProppFrexx OnAir version, you might try to reset your entire user data by deleting the Taggers AppUserData folder:
%appdata%\radio42\ProppFrexx Tagger\4.0

Oh yes! My photo is actually a zoom of the thumbnails that appear at the bottom in the taskbar. Maybe that’s why everything seems a bit funky to you!
Anyway, I followed your advice, I remove the 4.0 folder and now I can see the player.
Everything is back to normal.
Thank you very much.
