URL link
URL link
Is it possible to use a URL in the ad scheduler? One of the commercials is hosted on an external server.
Re: URL link
Yes, you can also reference and play audios via a URL.

Re: URL link
I’m going to try. The name of the link is always the same, but the content changes. Hopefully it will play correctly and won’t be the chat file.
Re: URL link
It doesn’t work properly. Sometimes it works once, and then it doesn’t. The new version is not being played
Re: URL link
You have also send me an email, in which you explained, that the issue is, that the URL first plays fine.
But when the content of the file is updated on the server (your dashboard), that ProppFrexx still plays the old (previous) version.
And yes, this is correct, as for URL streams, ProppFrexx (even if you just add a reference) downloads the file locally (url streams can not be used as live streams for adverts). I.e. ProppFrexx Advertising wouldn't play remote URL streams as adverts.
As a solution, you should build a local cache of your advert tracks and download them every day and then play from these local files.
This is even much more reliable and stable than streaming URLs. I.e. assume you have to play 10 individual URLs in an advert block. The timing would indeed not really good, as you would have noticable beaks between your different URLs.

Re: URL link
Indeed, at the moment I am using RTV to download the files locally. I originally wanted to use the URL directly because it is real-time. Sometimes it happens that the commercials are uploaded late to the server and then RTV has not yet downloaded everything.
But no problem, it was just a question. In any case, thank you very much for the quick reply.
