Hello Bernd,

Windows Smart App Control is blocking ProppFrexx On Air after running the update to 4.5.2.11 on Windows 11 Professional.

Seems to be a bug in the Windows Smart App and not ProppFrexx - unfortunately you would need to open a ticket there, as I am not able to do so logically.

Hello Bernd,

When you disable SAC you cannot enable it again.

When you try to run an app on Windows, Smart App Control will check to see if our intelligent cloud-powered security service can make a confident prediction about its safety. If the service believes the app to be safe, Smart App Control will let it run. If the app is believed to be malicious or potentially unwanted, then Smart App Control will block it.
If the security service is unable to make a confident prediction about the app, then Smart App Control checks to see if the app has a valid signature. If the app has a valid signature, Smart App Control will let it run. If the app is unsigned, or the signature is invalid, Smart App Control will consider it untrusted and block it for your protection.

ProppFrexx seems to be a false/positive in your case and it is not signed by a trusted Microsoft vendor, as this is ways to expensive for ProppFrexx, as this is simply to expensive - Microsoft only accepts Certificates from trusted vendors and this cost roughly € 100 per month!

I already submitted ProppFrexx to Microsoft, but this seems irrelevant, as Microsoft only accepts them with a valid code signature (which is too expensive for ProppFrexx). So it is recommended to ONLY run Smart App Control (SAC) in evaluation mode or deactivate it at all.

And you don't have to worry about disabling SAC - this 'feature' is disabled by default for all updated Win11 installations. In my opinion this is a feature to generate money thru a backdoor (and only code signatures are validated via a cloud service) - there are better ways to protect your PC. SAC is not making your live safer - hackers do have the money to purchase a code certificate and that is all what counts here.
