Playlist template wizard
Re: Playlist template wizard
can't you make an option wither to skip the empty overlays or not in the playlist template wizard it self before resolving the overlays into the playlist? this will satisfy all needs..
Re: Playlist template wizard
Yes, I'll look into it...

Re: Playlist template wizard
Thank you very much Bernd, it works like a charm, but there is only a little problem, you know that i have resolved the overlays in to the playlist so the overlay player it suppressed automatically, but some times what happens that in the time set to the overlay in the advertising manager it plays the overlay with the overlay player although it's existence in the playlist so it plays twice? how to grantee that the overlay is always suppressed when it's resolved in to the playlist???
Re: Playlist template wizard
Actually I can not reproduce it here with the latest version.
However, the 'behavior' might also depend on your setup/timing....let me try to explain:
a) An Overlay is 'initiated' in advance of its effective start/play time.
This is the time when the Overlay is also shown within the overlay player.
b) A new Playlist is also shown in advance of its effective start/play time.
This is the time when the Playlist Window is being created.
c) At the time of a) when the Overlay is created all open playlists are evaluated and checked.
At this time it might now happen, that a new playlist (b) has not been created yet.
As such the check fails and the overlay is assumed to be played.
d) As the Overlay now 'waits' until its effective start/play time, a new playlist might now be created.
If that playlist now contains embedded overlay entries - this is not checked again.
As you can see, this is the only slight chance I can think of in which an Overlay is started in the Overlay-Player.
But as you can see, this is theoretically possible, if the Overlay and the next Playlist/Program almost start at the same time and the 'Show in Advance' timing is not perfect between the Overlay and the Program Scheduler entry.
To resolve this you might have 2 possibilities:
1. Adjust the 'Show in Advance' timing for your Overlay and Program, so that the Overlay is created after the Program/Playlist is created.
2. If your really ALWAYS resolve ALL overlay entries to playlists anyhow, you might also fully 'Disable' the Overlay Scheduler.
In addition, I'll see, if I can implement an additional check within the Overlay Player to check the existence of an embedded overlay container entry right before the overlay is being played out.
This will at least suppress the playout (even though the overlay player was already shown...)

Re: Playlist template wizard
For me, i do resolve all the overlays into the playlists so disabling the advertising manager works for me until your next update, but for that everything works like a charm. Really thanks Bernd.
