How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
Bernd,
Question: how to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)?
Sometimes people can't do their local radioshow and in that case we like to broadcast an older show of them.
I made a set-up, but don't know if it's made correctly.
The situation I created: a directory with several older shows of a certain radioshow (all made by the same person).
I put that folder in MLS and made a library of it in PFOA, a script and finally I put it in the scheduler.
I created a random choice, so the script can made a choice which older show to play.
Length of each radioshow (called "jongerenprogramma") is 2 hours.
After the first hour the commercials and news starts; after that I like to continue the same show, so the listeners will hear the complete 2 hour show.
Attached you see the two screenshots.
Is it made correctly?

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
a) OK, didn't know that autoplay is automatically set when a script is executed via the scheduler entry.
b) I did that because 'Overlay One Cycle' means "This script executes exactly one cycle (the script lines are not looped)", so I thought it would play the entire 2 hours...
How do you mean "another program in parallel"? In the scheduler I made a reservation for 2 hours for this repetition.
c) No I only use the Overlay Scheduler for the commercials and news every hour. Not for other programs...

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
Bernd,
a) so regualar scheduled radioshow (live radioshow, not auto-deejay) I define as start type = manual (instead of fixed)?
b) ok will check the ? icon
c) don't know if that is called an overlay...
All 24 hours are scheduled: auto-deejay (scripts) and live radioshows (non-scripting).
In my case a 2 hour liveshow will be deleted and changed for a already recorded broadcast of 2 hours.
First hour, the script made a random choice of those recorded broadcasts (length 2 hours).
After the 1st hour the playlist stop (top of hour), the overlay do the commercials and news.
Than the previous playlist has to continue playing.

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
a) What is a "regualar scheduled radioshow"?
If that is a real manual show where no music needs to be scheduled automatically you might also leave the 'Script' field empty to create a so called 'NonScripting' program.
However, if it is a DJ/moderator assisted show ´where you want to pre-schedule the music/tracks...then yes, 'Manual' is the right StartType - as then the DJ would have to start each track manually. Meaning 'AutoPlay' is not turned on automatically (but can be manually by the DJ of course).
c) Are you using the Overlay Scheduler or the Program Scheduler to do so?
I assume you are using the Overlay Scheduler to define your 'commercials and news'?
If yes, all is fine I guess ? - as that is the exact scenario for an Overlay Scheduler entry!

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
a) all those different words we use
yes I mean a real manual show done by a DJ/moderator.
c1) I use the Overlay Scheduler only for commercials and news.
c2) I use the Program Scheduler only for manual shows and shows when we sleep
(we call that auto-dj)
Shall test everything first on my test-PC which is not broadcasting live
Thanks for this learning lesson Bernd.

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
a) Why did you place an execute Command as the first script line? I guess this can/should be removed - and as such you might want to adjust the Loop-Line.
AutoPlay is automatically set when a script is executed via the program scheduler entry!
b) Why did you define, that the program should run as an 'Overlay One Cycle'?
Do you have another program in parallel?
If not, set the Overlay option to "No Overlay"!
c) You said "After the first hour the commercials and news starts; after that I like to continue the same show, so the listeners will hear the complete 2 hour show"
I don't see this here, guess you solved that via an Overlay Scheduler entry and suppressed any other program in there?
The rest looks fine.

Re: How to set up (configuration) a repetition (rebroadcast)
a) You control that via the 'StartType' of the entry.
Only in case of 'Manual' AutoPlay is not activated.
b) Any program also executes the whole script as your time slot is long enough.
So no need to define that. If a program is defined as an Overlay it will not stop any previous program/script, but just suspend it. Any previous script will be resumed depending on the overlay type (either after one script cycle or at the defined end time of this program).
Click on the '?' icon at the top right of the program scheduler editor dialog to see the hints for all options...
c) Sure, so I guess this is what you mean by:
"After the first hour the commercials and news starts; after that I like to continue the same show, so the listeners will hear the complete 2 hour show"
-> this is your Overlay - isn't it?!
