FixTime elements

Post by friso »

Hello

I have a question.
I have made in the scheduler one block of nonstop that is running 24 hours a day.
I want to put in around the hour news.
Now i thought i can do this with the fixtime elements.

I created a playlist with 3 items. A end jingle of the hour, news and a begin jingle.
Fisxed element time i have on 59:00 ans start type soft.
Now i suspected that araoud the hour the 3 items are inserted, but only one item is put in the playlist.

What am i doing wrong, or is there another way to insert items in a nonstop running playlist?

Thanx

Probably it is an Embedded Container resp. Embedded Playlist which was added to the playlist - is that correct?
If yes, than all is normal, as by default - the embedded container/playlist will effectively contain all your FTE tracks you defined (as loaded from your playlist).

The reason for it is pretty simple: The embedded container ensures, that the FTE tracks are kept together and play together - like as one unit or as if you already down mixed the 3 tracks into a single one.
Within the playlist select that embedded container/playlist and press ALT+2 to see its content.

If you really want to make sure, that individual tracks are added, use the FTE 'LoadPlaylist' action and disable the option 'AsEmbeddedContainer'.
In that case a TimeUpdateSync item (valid at the FTE start time) followed by your individual tracks are added.
In that case, the TUS (TimeUpdateSync) item will ensure the proper FTE timing.

Now i tested it with a script fixed time event which included an end hour jingle, news, begin hour jingle.
The only thing that is played is the end hour jingle.
Also teh question what the function is of "count" in the fixedtime screen?

The 'Count' value has the same function as for a regular script-line and depends on the 'Mode'.

Here is an overview:
Sequential = number of tracks to sequentially get from the media lib
Random = number of tracks to randomly get from the media lib(s)
Cartwall = number of tracks to randomly get from the cartwall lib(s)
LoadTrack = not used (its the track being loaded)
LoadPlaylist = not used (the complete playlist is loaded)
Execute = defines the minimum number of entries to get from the script*
Advert = not used (the complete advert slot is used)
News = the number of tracks to select from the news category
Container = not used (the complete container is used)**
LoadFolder = up to this number of tracks are picked from the folder
Placeholder = not used (exists only for regular script-lines)
Command = not used (exists only for regular script-lines)

*Note (Execute):
In order to always 'reset' the script to its beginning specify the 'ResetScriptPointer' option - else the script would simply continue with each execution.
If you want to use the whole script (One Loop) or a certain Duration, please use the 'Container' mode.

**Note (Container):
This mode creates a dynamic embedded container for either an Overlay, Advert, Script or News. Its content is effectively evaluated at the time when loaded to a DJ Player (that's why I call this dynamic). With the container you reference the respective Overlay-Name or -ReferenceName, the Advert-Slot, the Script-Name or the News-Category. For Scripts you can further specify how many (one loop, number of track or duration) you want to add.

I assume in your case you are using the "Execute' mode with Count=1.
As such only one script track is picked. To always resolve 3 tracks (resp. 3 script-line) use Count=3 and make sure to set the 'ResetScriptPointer' option to ensure your script always starts at the beginning with each execution.
