Metadata editor does not accept dropped playlists

Post by hdradio »

I don't know if it's a bug or default behavior, but when I drag a playlist (.pfp) file to the trackboard it does not accept it.

Also I can't drop files from some other applications like musicbee that I use for my music library.
Applications (like mp3tag) accept files from musicbee.

The Metadata Editor (Tagger) works on existing folders/files and NOT with playlists or individual files.
This is also true for the Tagger's Trackboard, which is only for internal use.
As such dropping playlists and/or files wouldn't work - this is by design and not a bug!

If you want to work with individual files, playlists etc. you can use ProppFrexx OnAir, note that this also contains the TAG Editor and a Direct Tag editing mode.

I noticed that currently I can click open button and open a .pfp file.
It would be easier to drag and drop this file from windows explorer.

Also there are moments that I want to quickly set the cue points of a track or edit the tag of a file.
It takes sometime to open a PF instance just to edit a file's cue point or edit a rating tag.
For users of PF, the easiest to do would be to have a stand alone application (like winamp, xmplay etc) associated to audio files, so double clicking (or dropping) an audio file, this application opens and can edit cue points or tag data. Maybe I 'll ask that to wish list.
PF Media tagger can do this if you let it open that files directly.

That's fine.
I place that on the WishList...

Bernd, any news on this option ?
I think it's not difficult to implement.

It is not difficult (but still takes some time), however, there are other (more important) things on the ToDo list, like e.g. a 3-way/track Segue-Editor or Remote VoiceTracking...
