Overlays resolved to playlist / Still plays normale overlays
Hi Bernd
It might be by design, but it might be a behavior not everyone is expecting this way. When I do a voicetrack session into a program in advance, and check the box 'resolve overlays to playlist', the overlays end up in the playlist. I use overlays to schedule commercial breaks at the beginning and ending of a program, a weather-report and a local newscast at the 'bottom of the hour'
When I pre-voicetrack a program with these setttings, the overlays not only end up in the playlist, but there will still be an overlay played from the Overlay Player. Result : 2 x a commercial break at the beginning of the program. And if you use more overlays (ie a local news break at the bottom of the hour, much used in the netherlands) those will be aired twice, too.
The reason to use the 'resolve overlays to playlist' option is that when you're doing a voice-track session into a program, you're are aware of the position of the overlays (so, you're not voicetracking into a next song but end up voicetracking into a commercial break / local news) When you check that option, you expect that a) the overlay will be placed in the playlist and will _not_ be played through the overlayplayer anymore or b) the overlay will be placed 'as a dummy' in the playlist, will actually be ignored when playing the playlist and the overplayplayer will be used to play the scheduled (and resolved) overlay.
Do you agree ?
Kind regards,
André

Re: Overlays resolved to playlist / Still plays normale over
Yes I fully agree. And what you describe was also the intention behind.
I must take a closer look at it. But sure, it should NOT play twice!
You are right, this was a bug. It will be fixed in the version!
