Question about starting news at right time

I've got the following question due to some changes we have to make at this moment: before playing the news there are 30 seconds with jingles.
How to play the news right on time? Do I have to set the starttime for example at 13:59:30 fixed?
Now I have for example 14:00:00 fixed, but than everything is playing at 14.00h, so the news will be 30 seconds later.
Attached you can see the situation.

After the newsoverlay the commercials overlay will follow; how about that starttime and starttype?

I assume, that your news is the 3rd script line?
Yes, if you want to let this line play at xx:00:00 and your two Jingles take 30 sec., then you must schedule your overlay to start 30 sec. in advance, e.g. at 13:59:30 Fixed!

Correct 3rd line. OK will change that.
After the news overlay the commercial overlay will follow. Is start time **:00:01 and start type endsat correct ?

If you have set the 'Combine parallel Overlay' option I would define it as:

1. Overlay (news): StartTime 13:59:30; Fixed; Show 120 seconds in advance
2 Overlay (commercial): StartTime 14:00:01; Soft; Show 140 seconds in advance

That way the 2nd is effectively just started a few seconds after the 1st one (while that is still waiting) and this both can be combined to play perfectly one after the other.
