Priority value and screen appearance

Post by hdradio »

I 've changed the priority of my (same time) overlays but on overlay screen and upcoming overlays the priority with 3 (my commercial overlay) is in front of priority 1 (my time announce overlay).
Can I change this ?

Things are worst than I though.
When it was time for the 2 overlays to play, the overlay screen showed up with only time announce overlay and showing that +1 overlay is to play (but this was not loaded).
Then the overlay (time announce) started, ended, the 1st song of the next program started and then the 2nd overlay loaded into overlay player! Then a few seconds later and while the song WAS PLAYING the overlay started OVER the song !!!!! My god !!! what is wrong again ?

Both overlays have the same :
Start Type
Start Time
Show 90 secs in advance

The only difference is that Time Announce has Max start delay 120 secs while the commercial overlay has it 240 secs.

It's a new installation at home to test the same time overlays before applying those settings onair.
And yes I forgot to check "combine parallel overlays".
But as you say they should play sequentially after each other.
Why the first played, the song started and later the second overlay started playing OVER the song ?

I quickly checked the case when 'Combine-Parallel Overlays' was turned off - but that also played fine here!
In both cases within a running program or exactly between two program changes - using your above overlay settings.
So there must have been something else be wrong in your testing...

Yes but what ?

I tried again with 'Combine-Parallel Overlays' turned off and the result was almost the same as above:
Song ended
1st overlay started
Next song started
2nd overlay started

This time the 2nd overlay did not play in parallel with the song. But it did not start after the 1st overlay.

So again: It means, that the 'combine parallel overlay' option works!
As said above: the other scenario isn't even fully supported...so I don't know, if it is worth testing...

However, then please send me the following:
- overlay and program entries (i.e. the calendar files) - tell which ones you have been testing
- are you testing overlays within a program or between two programs
- all your related scripts are needed
- maybe your complete Advert Storage Path (as a zipped folder)
- your mixing settings (ProppFrexx ONAIR.mixing file from the AppUserData folder)
- your config settings (ProppFrexx ONAIR.config file from the AppUserData folder)
- any audio file, if specific ones are used (e.g. ones which are very small or have certain settings tagged)
- any other playlist files used (e.g. opener/closer files)

Bernd I can't send you all these. I am busy to collect all these. Sorry. I am sending you the debug log and the calendar files.

The 'Upcoming Overlay' popup currently displays the list of overlays as is (unsorted). So it doesn't consider the Prio. - as I guess the name is enough to identify them.
Only the Overlay Player considers the Priority and also only in case multiple overlays would have to be combined.

You would have to check the effective time - which is the 'Start Time' and your 'Start Type' and your 'Show in Advance' time...? Last time I looked into them they had been different...Meaning to combine overlays they need to effectively show up at the same time...
May be that is causing your behavior...?

Just made some tests here...but they are combined perfectly fine.
Are you sure, that the tracks/adverts can be loaded correctly and 'in time'?
And that you have enabled the 'Combine Parallel Overlays' option?

Since when you say it displayed " showing that +1 overlay " is to play, that indicates, that the overlays have not been combined?!
But are played sequentially after each other...
