DSP not on enabled PFOA start

Post by hdradio »

I have enabled a vst dsp on a mixer channel.
I 've noticed lately that when I restart PF (after update) this dsp is not enabled and I have to manually enable it. This is happening only on my OnAir PC. Any idea what can be wrong ?

What DSP (VST) is it?
And what type of mixer channel is it? (anything specific to that mixer channel on your OnAir machine, e.g. a virtual one, a shared driver with another mixer channel)?
The only reason I see is, that the VST fails to load on your OnAir-PC at startup?
Is the same VST working on another machine and restoired correctly?
Maybe some interference with else on your OnAir PC?

The dsp is JB Broadcast.
This is a virtual channel (an input channel sends to it) and I use it for sending audio to streaming encoders.
I 've just tested on another pc using also a virtual channel and it starts normally. I don't know :o .

Hm, I also just tested JB Broadcast here on multiple PCs and also on different mixer channels, but they ALL restored perfectly fine - like on your other PC.

Are other VSTs restoring correctly on that PC?
If other VSTs are restoring correctly then it must be somehow related to that VST and your PC - maybe you can then contact the developer of that VST for support?

What you else might try is to close PF - then delete the file "Default.mixer" (make a backup copy first!!!) - and the restart PF.
You will then need to setup your complete mixer channels again...
May be that helps?

As I said this is happening after update. That's the only time that PF restarts.
The PF updater tries to close PF for long time. Then I right click on the taskbar icon and click close. It asks me if I want to close PF and I click yes. Then the updater continues.

If I close PF in a normal way and restart it, the DSP is there and enabled.

And it only happens on that specific PC?!

That indeed sounds similar to the overlay issue you posted here:
