PF was playing but no audio out
PF was playing but no audio out
Bernd that was the final blow.
I told you that I had to be away for Christmas and I could only listen my radio by it's stream.
Today morning at 09:00 I was called by a friend telling me that my radio station was not broadcasting.
Immediately I started a teamviewer session and I saw that while PF was playing, no audio was out. The level meters on mixer channels were not showing any level. At that moment I couldn't do anything else than close PF and start it again. This time audio was coming out and everything seemed normal again.
I had to come back from where I 've been (200km away) because I couldn't let my station in a possible silence again in CHRISTMAS TIME.
I started listening to auto recordings to find what time this silence happened. It was 02:01am at the time when the overlay started playing the voice over the sound base.
Bernd... I hope that you understand what is 07:30 hours of silence in a commercial fm radio station.
I am really very very disappointed. I have no other words to say.

Re: PF was playing but no audio out
No! I do not agree!
Doesn't sound like a fair deal : I either spend a lot of money or a lot of time...
I have already spend so much time trying to help...
I would have another option:
Simply do NOT use the transitions within overlays! Your issue must according to your logic immediately disappear. And as that feature was just implemented on your behalf for no money and nothing; I guess its a feature you did not even used before
Or go back to a previous version (e.g. v3.0.14.26: http://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/downl ... 301426.zip)
...and let's see, if your system is then stable!
So I am afraid, that doesn't prove anything.
We already had serious issues before, e.g. do you remember when I implemented a special consistency check for all your audio file within your media libs - just to figure out, that a couple of them had be corrupted and thus causing issues...?
As said: the issue/root cause can be anywhere...but I am out of my ideas with your system.
Let us try my above suggestion - that doesn't cost ANY money for non of us!

When looking back, you had issues all over the time. Last time it was also a thread being stuck within your system; overlays do make extensive use of threads, that's why the chance something is happening is much bigger.I told you that by listening to the recorded stream, the stop of audio happened at the time the transition started
So I am afraid, that doesn't prove anything.

Re: PF was playing but no audio out
We already discussed some aspects and possible issues with your system.
As you are the only one having so many and constant issues, I believe (as already explained in other threads) it might be a PC, OS setup OR any other system component/driver causing the issue - tons of possibilities actually... All recent logs have shown a thread hanging issue within your PC. However it's a system issue, which I can not prove or reproduce and definitely has this time it's root cause outside of ProppFrexx.
Especially IF ProppFrexx WAS PLAYING (as you have written), but no audio was coming out?!
Thus ProppFrexx was alive and was doing it's work! That sounds like a sound card driver issue to me or a system sound issue or a malfunctioned hardware or...!
I do not know, but why do you believe, that ProppFrexx is guilty?!
Just because ProppFrexx WAS playing and all of a sudden no audio is coming out?
I already explained, that I had a couple of customers having similar issues and the issues stopped once they used a different sound card or different hardware.
I can not say, that it is the same on your PC - but I can not see any other reason.
As said, not only me, but tons of users do use the system 24 by 7 and they do NOT have any issues at all.
If it would be a ProppFrexx internal and evident issue, why are all those other systems running fine and stable.
And before you say: "...but there was that other customer in that other thread complaining in the same way..." - no, that system was stable, he just use a Track-Insert-Transitions with a script-line in the wrong way and thus complained, that 2 tracks where playing in parallel (which is the nature of transition
- so his system was stable.
But yes, there had been bugs in the system after adding new feature in the past; most of them had been caused by 3rd party software which I am using- yes and that is no good at all. But those bugs had been quickly fixed.
I even told you, that I had setup a dedicated Test-PC using almost exactly your setup and that PC is now up and running for over 2 weeks without a single issue. So I am out of ideas, but I am afraid I am not able to remotely fix your PC/system from within ProppFrexx.
If there would be others users having similar issues - all would be fine and I would sit down day and night to find a possible bug within ProppFrexx - but there are not.
As such I am out of ideas...
I can really understand your frustration!
But I am really at the end of ideas, as it could be anything (drivers, other software, hardware ...)

Re: PF was playing but no audio out
How do you explain that all my serious issues started when you implemented the transition in overlays ?However it's a system issue, which I can not prove or reproduce and definitely has this time it's root cause outside of ProppFrexx.

This situation can not continue anymore. But I have an idea.As such I am out of ideas...
You say that it's not PF but my pc that has the problem. So I suggest the following:
I 'll build a new PC with the exact configuration you tell me. Motherboard, CPU, memory, sound card, power supply. EVERYTHING!
Then using a remote control YOU 'll install everything needed for PF to run.
We 'll let PF to run.
BUT. If any stop or any other problem occurs, without any other questions, you 'll refund me and I 'll never bother you again.
Do you agree ?
