Supress Overlay

Post by andrerotgans »

Hi Bernd,

A question regarding the supress overlay script line option.
At our station we use a script which plays a top of the hour, than checks if there is a certain audiofile with a naming convention (YYMMDD-HH.mp3/wav). If thats available, it means that there is a pre recorded show for that particular hour available and that will be played. If not, the script will play a non-stop show with some liners/id's and so on. At around **.30 there will be local news, scheduled from the overlay scheduler.

In the scriptline which plays the pre recorded show, I use the suppress overlay in order to prevent the local news from being played. The pre-recorded shows are 58 minutes you see, you don't want them cut of after a certain time for the local news.

However, this option also prevents the commercials to be played near the top of the next hour. We use commercials with a 'end at' 00:00 to be played before the next hour kicks in.

Is there a way to suppress the overlay but not suppress the advertising overlay ?

Kind regards,

André

Yes, you can set the "ForceUsageNeverSuppress" overlay option with your commercial overlay.
If that option is set the suppress check is ignored for that specific overlay and the current tracks 'SuppressOverlay' option is not evaluated.
