Overlay starts delayed with silence

Post by hdradio »

v15.18
I 'll describe what happpens:
There is a program A playing for 20:00 - 21:00. A new program B is about to start at 21:00
The last song of A ends at 20:58:30. My time overlay (21:00) is scheduled to start early 90secs.
The overlay shows delay about 4mins !
Program stops, NOTHING IS PLAYING !, the overlay is waiting and when the countdown ends, it starts, plays the time announce and then starts the new program.
This has happened two times.
I send you the debug log to check it out.

Please help. I am losing my listeners !

Then go back to your previous version until we figure what it's causing!
I also didn't change anything in that area on my side, so it sounds strange - might be again a UI lib/scheduler issue - I must investigate this in more detail.

It happened again tonight at 21:00
If I go back to 15.13 I suppose that i need the 2 modified calendar files you 've sent me. Right?

Did you take a look to the log files?

Bernd,
Again this morning at 07:00 is happened.
I have some information to share.
I forgot that I did a change to the overlay.
The change was that I added Max. Early=60secs and Max Late 240secs.
All the other settings were the same as past :
IMG_20150713_072806_cr.jpg
IMG_20150713_072806_cr.jpg (77.56 KiB) Viewed 13514 times
I noticed that the delay of overlay is that much as needed for overlay to start at XX:04' (eg 21:04, 07:04)

Today I also noticed that the 1st track of the next program (07:00) played at 06:55.36. I have in settings "Script/Scheduler" program start time 90secs.
This has happened some times in past but I forgot to report it.

The values I 've changed was Max Early and Max Late (both were 0).

About today's track that started earlier, yes you are right. That track was improperly tagged and was wrongly chosen by the script.

But what I say about the 1st track of next program starting before the overlay is happening (not very often, 2-3 times a month) with previous versions too.

When I say that this was happening with previous versions too, I mean all versions including .13 and .18

ok. Let's stay on the silence issue.
I am still using .18
What I did now is set Max Early and Max Late to 0 and see if silence happens again.
I 'll let you know.
