Disabled streaming encoders try to connect continuously

Post by hdradio »

I have 2 streaming encoders that I use in special cases. When I want to use them, I ask the provider to enable them so I can connect.
That encoders are disabled in PF settings:
Connect at Startup : Disabled
Reconnect on Error every : Disabled
Auto update : Disabled
Force update : Disabled
The streaming encoders look stopped at "Network streaming monitor"
The provider informed me that my pc tries to connect to his server every few seconds and he wants me to stop it.
I installed a network tool and I confirmed that PFOA tries to connect every few seconds.
I don't want to delete those encoders because I have to add them every time I want to use them.
I just want to disable them.
How can I do that ?

There are 2 cases, where a streaming server entry (even if disabled) connects to the server:
a) the 'Force Update' option of the streaming server is enabled and it tried to update the song title update
b) the general 'Show Listeners' option is enabled and thus the server statistics are gathered according to the general 'Update Frequency' (see general settings, section 'Streaming')

As the connection happens every few seconds, I assume case b).
You need to disable the 'Show Listeners' option in order to suppress gathering the server statistics (you can do this by a right-click in the Network Streaming Monitor window and disable the 'Show Listeners' option).

There is no other way to handle this, as many users explicitly requested the feature to also being able to gather the listener count (server statistics), even if the entry is disabled. The use case of this scenario is to get all listener counts for all used Relay-Servers. In this case all servers are configured (relay and main server), whereas only the main server is active.

Yes "Show listeners count" is enabled because I want to have the listeners count from my main server.
But this is a global option and affects all servers.

Can this be changed for any individual server ?

As said above this is currently a global option. May be in a future version.
