mixer explorer find windows all missing

Hi Bernd,

From this morning, suddenly, on the computer used for remote VT sessions (PF demo version) >> mixer, search, explorer windows are missing.. if I try view / click on mixer or anything else Nothing show up... when I try to connect for a session, it opens the playlist and the players but still no mixer or anything else.
on my side I didn't change anything, so I tried to reinstall the software but got same issue..

I guess this did not happen 'all of a sudden' If those panel windows are missing, someone modified your layout... it looks like your layout file is not some corrupt (could also be a hard disk defect which caused this)...

However,
to restore the default layout either go to the general settings, section 'Look and Feel' ... OR
Close PF; delete the file 'ProppFrexx ONAIR.layout' from your ProppFrexx AppUserData folder and then restart ProppFrexx.

thanks Bernd, It's back.. but it was sudden.. I'm the only one that using this computer.

Nothing seems wrong on HardDisk side, bit this morning new issue, and PF is not opening anymore, I've got a crash message during the loading of the software, I Tried to uninstall then reinstall but still no way to run PF.

Then I realized something that maybe is origin of this issues: those two problems happened after I Had a session with cubase open at the same time (that is usually not the case).

Do you have a tip to run proppfrexx again?

What exact error message do you get?
There should either be an entry in the ProppFrexx's file called "Error.log" (contained in the ProppFrexx AppUserData folder; if it is/was a ProppFrexx issue) OR there should be an entry in your Windows Event Log (in this case it is mostly a system or driver issue).

Did Cubase modify your system's soundcard settings? If yes, you might try to delete the file "Default.mixer" - which contains your default mixer settings (channel, devices used in PF; it is also contained in the ). When you delete that file all mixer settings are reset and you need to configure that from start - so make a backup copy first, if this wasn't your issue.

Else than that I have never heard of anything like that.

Note, that some sound drivers (typically ASIO) do not allow 2 applications to access the device in parallel - maybe this is the limit you experienced; but that however should not prevent ProppFrexx from starting again once you closed the other app.
Did you try a full reboot already?
