Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
Hi bernd,
I'm using PF mainly live. When i play a card (f.e. a filler), and press a second card they are playing both ath the same time. What i want is that pressing a second card it stops playing the first card.
I have tried to achieve this by editting the track control command effect: On track played:CW1_FADEOUT_ALL. I'm using CW1 ofcourse, and i have added this command to the card which i want to stop already playing other cards: But it doesn't work. What am i doing wrong?
Kind regards,
Marcel

Re: Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
That they play at the same time is by default and by design!
But..
Go to the general settings, section 'Player Settings' and check under 'Cartwall' the 'Prevent parallel Playback' option!
Guess that is what you are looking for.

Re: Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
Hi Bernd,
No that's not really what i want...
F.e. i have a little "speak" with underneath a filler. The filler is an entry in the cartwall. When i'm almost done i have to end the filler, so i press fade-out and then start another short filler (also a cart). Some carts should end a playing cart, some don't.
If you look to my solution, do you have an idea why this doesn't work? If i start play a cart, and then test with the command control builder i managed with the test to stop a playing cart.
(if i add the "ending" cart in to the playlist, load it in a player and start the player it works...)
Kind regards,
Marcel

Re: Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
So you want to individually control on a per single cart bases if other carts should be stopped or not if playback start?
If that's the case, I guess that is currently not supported out of the box.
As you are using the CW1_FADEOUT_ALL command I guess your track which just started would also end/faded-out?
Is that the case?
you might try to use the CW1_FADEOUT_CART command, but that takes as a parameter the cart id of the cart to fade-out?!
Don't know if that helps.
Else I can place your requirement onto the wish list for a future release.

Thats correct!radio42 wrote:So you want to individually control on a per single cart bases if other carts should be stopped or not if playback start?

No it doesn't do anything when played from the Cartwall. The command only works if i play the cart from one of the playersradio42 wrote: As you are using the CW1_FADEOUT_ALL command I guess your track which just started would also end/faded-out?

No same effect...radio42 wrote: you might try to use the CW1_FADEOUT_CART command, but that takes as a parameter the cart id of the cart to fade-out?!

Ok Bernd, that should be great!radio42 wrote: Else I can place your requirement onto the wish list for a future release.

Re: Cardwall: fade out current playing entry
Where (with which event?) did you use the CW1_FADEOUT_ALL command?
Note, that if it is track related control-command, you must enable the command execution for the Cartwall in the general settings, section 'Player Settings', see the 'Exec. Commands' combo-box and check Cartwall1 and/or Cartwall2.

Bernd, that solved my question, your'e great! Still i have a request. I'm using PF at home, but my local (non commercial) radio station maybe wants to use it for live broadcasting. In that situation we need the enterprise edition, because of UAC. On 12 th januari i have to demonstrate PF.
PF could be very complicated (i think i understand now 60% for the live part, i have never used PF as a play out system). The way f.e. we achieved the solution for my problem is hard to explain to other dj's. It should be very handsome if there was some button on each card (like the loop button) to achive this. In our local station we use as a card player Jazler show http://www.jazler.com/demo/. For this part it will be hard to convince my collegeas to use PF. It's a very simple program with a nice look. Maybe you can take a short look to Jazler to understand what i mean.
Kind regards,
Marcel

radio42 wrote:The new v3.0.14.34 contains a new "Stop Others on Play" option for each cart.
This can either be toggled via the Loop button (a 'S' character indicated the Stop others mode) or via the Cart's context menu.
WOWWW already and it works like a charm!!!! Far before my demo, i will convince them
