PF really gets slow

Post by SiriusRadio »

Whenever i want to drag songs from the library into the new playlist it'll take some time and PF is getting busy for some time.
IThe timer cliock stops, not able to do something else. PF will not react in any way. Then after 30-45 secs the clocks starts running again and it is business as usual.
I closed and restarted, no change, cloed restarted the pc, open PF nothing changed.
So perhaps can you tell me what this is?
After all it is quit annouing when i have to fix a quick playlist.

No idea it never happens to me. It sounds a bit strange. The only thing which is probably done is reading the TAG data. But if that takes 30 or more sec. you should check your HDD.

The disk seems to be allright. When i play or drag music into winamp or Wmediaplayer the files react as good as always. Might there be a problem loading that specific file?

No I do not think so.
Is it probably a remote media lib you are using?
And your network paths are broken?
How can you test dropping tracks from a media lib into Winamp etc. as they do not support this :-)
And was it always slow? If not, what have you changed.

I have not change anything. Every 7 days i just restart the computer. Thats it.
I embedded a pic were you actually can see the red dot which tells me PF is busy. Normally this is green.
Whatever i do, everything happens with a 5-10 sec delay.

Before it was a 30 to 40 sec. delay?!
Do you mean the red dot at the left bottom of the main window? If yes, click on it and you can clear any background task... May be you rescanned all media libs and that now takes time... You must have 'changed' something...

The red dot doesn't show anything. And the time is back to 30-45 sec each handle. Nithing is running in the back ( w7 not included :D ). Will try on saturday. Thats my day off. And Bernd, again, i didn't change a thing. Also no MS updates etc.
The problem Seems to be around the library, i agree with you. I hope ill end it next saturday.

If you haven't changed anything and I haven't changed anything it sounds a bit strange, except the system is somehow defect?
