Live News Stream Top of the Hour

Post by thomassampson »

Hi

I was wondering if you can help me with something I am trying to achieve. I have a live radio news feed which comes down from a satellite and is going into a muted input fader.

Essentially what I want to do is automatically:
  • 1. Stop program and play 24 second jingle at 59:46
    2. Unmute input fader (which I can already do with command) at 00:00
    3. Fade in soundbed for News at 00:00 (not essential)
    4. Do nothing for 120 seconds
    5. Mute input fader at 01:20
    6. Stop Bed playing at 01:20
    7. Continue playing program
I have spent days trying to get this to work properly and just can not get it to time just right and I am unsure on how to correctly schedule 2 minutes of nothing.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Thomas :D

You can simply use the Overlay a Scheduler.
Create a new entry using a Fixed start time and select as Playing the LineIn option and specify the related mixer channel. The duration of the overlay specifies the line in feed time. That's it.
You might also search here for "LineIn Feed".

Hi Bernd

Thank you for your response, I have got it working but there is one issue, the Input Overlay fades out after 30 seconds and starts the program playing again. I have the duration set to 120 seconds.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

In the overlay entry, have you set the "Approx. Duration" to your exact duration?

Approx. Duration: (Duration)
Specify the approximate duration (in seconds) of this overlay.
In case of Type = Input, this specify the exact duration (in seconds) the mixer-input-channel should be unmuted and as such determines the time the overlay will be effective.

Hi Bernd

I doubled checked the settings and at the top of the hour did the same, faded out and started the next program after about 30 seconds.

Please see the configuration below, any advise would be hugely appreciated.

Your settings look totally correct.
I must double check what might happen?!
Which version are you using?

Hi Bernd

I am using the latest version. What I will do is record the output so you can hear what is happening. Will post in the next hour.

Thanks
