Need to mute radio stream output so that I can use my computer for other audio

Post by incrypto »

Hello,

I'm sure this is such a basic question, but I'm just getting started. I'm using the mixers exactly as they were set up when I installed. The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to mute my radio stream so that I can use the soundcard for other things, such as playing Spotify, other audio files, anything really. I tried setting the output of the PLAY mixer to NONE, but that actually muted my radio stream. I don't want to experiment with it because I have active listeners and don't want dead air.

This is a big problem because I can't use my computer right now to work on other audio, such as building playlists and working on the audio content for my station.

Thanks for your help!

Just click on the ‘M’ in the main output mixer channel.
The M is for Mute.

I just did lower then raise the volume of the OUT channel a few times instead of hitting mute (I right-click on the M) and a few seconds later on my station feed I could hear the volume lower then raise a few times. So that tells me that hitting that M will mute the audio of the radio stream. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for helping with this, appreciate it.

A right-click will move the fader.
So leave the fader up.
Have you tried clicking on the M button? Or not?

Yes I just did and that worked (of course lol since it's your software and you know it completely). Thanks for your patience. Radio feed is still sounding fine.
