Tools instant Recording
Tools instant Recording
When recording with TOOLS: Instant Recording
Then file in the playlist and convert this to a sweeper
Track insert: VO end with ramp. - 12 dB
When you set this, the recorded track runs over the intro.
Also in Mixing settings per media type everything is off.
It mainly makes a mistake when the recording is longer than the intro.
When you enter this manually in the playlist, entering the sweeper goes wrong. When this is done in the script, it goes well. This with exactly the same tracks.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Tools instant Recording
I agree, that this might be confusing - and I even think of changing the current behavior.
As currently the Next cue-point of the insert track defines the aligning position - in your transition, where the track ends.
I.e. if the insert track has a Next cue-point it would ‚play over‘ the Ramp. If the insert track has no Next cue-point it would end with the CueOut position.
So I assume, that your Instant Recording has a Next cue-point. Either remove it or define your mixing settings for this media type accordingly, so that a Next cue-point is almost at CueOut.

Re: Tools instant Recording
The tack contains the correct settings and NEXT is at the very end.
When manually entering a sweeper VO end Ramp it goes wrong.
When the same tracks execute this via SCRIPT, the VO end Ramp does run fine with exactly the same file.
So something is wrong when manually creating a sweeper.
The instant recording is meant to execute playlist via REMOTE VOICE TRACKING playlist only, without downloading all files.

Re: Tools instant Recording
Then I can not reproduce such issue!
Can you please exactly tell me your steps to reproduce the issue. What do you mean by manually insert a VO?
I am testing it by creating a new playlist add some tracks (which have all respective cue-points set) and then I drop a recorded voice track onto one track and hold down the ALT key. In the upcoming SpecialElement dialog I select VO: End with Ramp of Next Track.
How do you test things?
Also please send me your tracks in question to reproduce the issue. Ie. the voice insert track and your next track. A screenshot of the resulting Segue Editor would also be great.
Thanks

Re: Tools instant Recording
I made sweepers in the playlist via CTRL + R, then the sweeper runs through the RAMP.
When you take the same tracks and make the sweeper via ALT it runs fine.
CTRL + R does not work but ALT does.
CTRL+R works well with sweepers from 2 to 10 sec.
From the moment the sweeper is 15 sec, CTRL+R does not work.
But it does via ALT
Thanks for the opportunity.

Re: Tools instant Recording
Not here, I can really not reproduce it - can you post a screenshot of the Segue Editor?
And what transition do you choose? Is it really the „VO: End with Ramp of Next Track“ ?
If you for example choose the regular „End with Ramp of Next Track“ transition - the entire track will used as a track insert transition and if the sweeper is bigger than the Ramp, it will of course play over, as real track insert doesn't stay as an independent track, i.e. it can at earliest start at CueIn. Only the "VO: ..." transitions make sure, that each track stays as an independent track in the playlist, allowing to start even before the next track begins.
When pressing CTRL+R the exact same dialog is invoked, as if you would drop a track and hold the ALT key.
Very strange…

Re: Tools instant Recording
v4.5.1.3 is out, which now uses CueOut instead of Next to end the transition.

Re: Tools instant Recording
Thanks for this update. So ALT is disabled for sweepers and only CTRL+R works now. So this is very efficient work. Great product!
Re: Tools instant Recording
No! ALT also still work.
BUT you would have to drop the track onto the ‚next‘ track!
In your video you was dropping the sweeper on itself - which doesn’t make logical sense. So drop the sweeper on the track you want robuste it as an insert transition… that’s all and is the way it was always intended.

Re: Tools instant Recording
Yes, that's right! ALT works too. Awesome to work with such a perfect software. Thanks for the help!
