Problem agter Update V4.5.2.6

Post by viljar »

After the update, some program windows no longer open.
In the View menu it is still possible to click options such as Mixer, Rind Track, etc., but the corresponding windows do not appear.

Previously, the windows were detached from the main program window, meaning they were spread out as separate windows, as if on a different screen.
Otherwise, the program works and plays music, but at the moment it is not possible to adjust the volume because the controls are not visible, and it is also not possible to search for tracks.

Reset the Layout in the general settings, section Look and Feel and then note the Defaukt in the Workspace ribbon tab. Here you can even save your special Layout and restore it any time.

I have tried using “Restore Layout” in the “Looks and Feel” menu. The program does react in some way, but I still cannot open anything from the View menu.Image

It is the ‚Reset‘ - ‚Layout‘ button above - see the tool tip for more explanations. A restart is required after.
Else - as said you can use the Workspace button in the ribbon tab.

Maybe I did not explain it clearly enough. I have pressed both of those buttons and also closed and reopened the program, but it still does not working like needed.

Thank you very much, I managed to get it working 🙂

Maybe you can also help with another issue. I am using a setup where recorded shows are played back automatically, and according to the Program schedule the show runs for “one cycle”.
Screenshot 2025-12-21 015949.png
When the show ends, sometimes the program does not continue playing automatically. The Overlay window does close, but the main playlist does not start playing again.

When I click AutoPlay, everything works again.

If this starts happening very often, I restart the computer and then it works fine again for a few weeks.

I guess you misunderstood the setting you are referring to!

That setting does NOT mean to only loop the script once! The Program Entry overlay option defines, that the program itself starts as an overlay on top of an underlaying other program - ie. there must be a base program and on top of it this program runs as an overlayed program. Once it ends, the underlying base program continues. This is different to the overlay scheduler.

I assume you have not defined an underlying base program which runs in parallel.

If you just want to execute a single script-line and want to prevent, that this line is being looped, eg. See here:

I have read other threads and similar issues are described there, but not exactly the same one.
Screenshot 2025-12-21 151150.png
In my case, the main playlist (currently Day) is running underneath, and on top of it there is an Overlay playlist. The issue occurs sometimes when the Overlay playlist finishes playing and does not close automatically, and as a result Day does not resume. In some cases the Overlay playlist does close, but Day still does not continue playing automatically.

Another topic I read about in other discussions is the player windows drifting out of position. This is indeed happening. On the server I also have a Backup running, and the resolution there is different. The player windows really do behave oddly – sometimes they are shifted so far that the buttons of the outermost player are not even visible, and then with the next track they may suddenly be back in the correct position.

I assume DAY is your 'underlying/main' playlist (which is not set to be played overlayed - guess you even have defined this entry in your program accordingly?).
What you describe is, that "DAY" should play ALL the time in the background. So that the DAY program/playlist must be running as an opened playlist all the time. At least in your initial post screenshot I can not see the DAY playlist open. There is only the '80-90-00 Disco...' playlist open - so what happened to the 'DAY' or other 'underlying/main' playlist?
If that was closed, and the 'overlayed' playlist finishes - there is nothing to be resumed. As that is what an 'overlayed' playlist is doing - it just resumes any 'underlying/main' playlist, but doesn't start a new playlist.

In your 'overlayed' playlists you have even do not define to 'Pause' the 'underlying/main' program/playlist? So the two should play in parallel (ie. the main and the overlayed one)?

So maybe you need to send me your entire program scheduler calendar file and the related .pls script files to take a deeper look.

The last issue you mention is by design. If the players do not all fit into your screen resolution, the one playing is scrolled into view - which might cause the outer first resp. third player to be not fully visible. To resolve this issue either stack the players or make more space available for the players.
