Global History
Global History
What might be incorrectly checked?
In Global History, the full list of VT, Jingles, and MUSIC appears. Even though it is set to only track MUSIC. GLOBAL HISTORY only executes this way for pre-made lists for VT. What should we change to ensure that GLOBAL HISTORY also only stores MUSIC for pre-made lists? Currently, it is set to repeat artists after 60 tracks. But when VT and JINGLES are added, those 60 tracks are reached too quickly. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Re: Global History
Are you talking about manually added tracks?
The Exclude Option is today basically only used when checking the history.
Note, that in each script-line you have a separate option to check and/or add tracks to the history - see the script-line Options:
- SuppressHistoryCheck
- SuppressAddHistory
So for all irrelevant script-lines you might set the later option.
However, this of course doesn't apply for VoiceTracking, where tracks are added manually, you might set the option to 'Never' add them to the global history - see the "More..." options. However, I might also add a new option to the next version to always force to apply the 'Exclude' filter also for adding tracks to the global history.

Re: Global History
A new v4.5.2.12 is available which add a new "Force Exclude Filter with Adding" option to the More... option dialog.
If option forces the exclude filter also when adding tracks to the global history.

Re: Global History
And so checking the new button will fix this?
So, to summarize briefly.
We have proppfrexx continuously creating playlists throughout the day; we do not work with pre-made playlists.
When someone wants to record voice tracks, that person creates a playlist.
However, we notice that everything appears in GLOBAL HISTORY, including JINGLES, VT, and MUSIC.
GLOBAL HISTORY is set to 60, which means this number is reached quickly.
When PF simply rotates, i.e., without a pre-made playlist, the global history only keeps track of MUSIC, as configured.
But this should be fixed with the update, right?
Thanks in advance for looking into this.

Re: Global History
Yes, as said - it should fix it.
You say, that the issue only appears, when someone manually creates a playlist (when voice tracking is performed).
See the other option the the ‚More…‘ dialog. - eg. you can also set the option to ‚Never‘ add manually added tracks to the global history.

Re: Global History
Okay, I am testing out the new addition FORCE EXCLUDE FILTER, and what I have already noticed is... when you restart PF, the checkmark goes off again. Only when you use SAVE LAYOUT does it stay on a new startup.....
Furthermore, the following observation:
We only create a playlist when recording voiceovers; otherwise, we don't. However, when I create a playlist for tomorrow at 10 AM, for example, it immediately adds the tracks from that playlist for tomorrow directly to the Global History. It makes no difference whether you set "add to GLOBAL HISTORY" to "only scripting," "autoplay," or "always" and "never" is excluded. Why does it add tracks to the global history when creating a playlist that isn't for tomorrow? At the time of broadcast, it adds those tracks again. What could I be setting incorrectly? I have both "only at scripting" and "only at autoplay" set. Thanks in advance for the information.

Re: Global History
Because this is by design, it is always realtime - the individual history entries do not have a date associated with it.
However, see the Back-To-Future… options in the history settings. Precreated playlists are still considered during realtime scripting at the time they are due.

Re: Global History
and does this have an influence then: it is now 6 PM and there is room for a GLOBAL HISTORY of 60 TRACKS. Someone creates a list for 9, 10, 11 AM.... the 60 TRACKS have been reached. Does this then have no influence on the tracks from 7 PM? Does the GLOBAL HISTORY have no influence on EXTENDED HISTORY? What is the best setting to add to GLOBAL HISTORY then: ONLY AT SCRIPTING. We don't want a repetition of artists within 3 hours or +/- 60 tracks. Could you also check the previous post again? Upon restarting, the FORCE EXCLUDE FILTER does not stay on; you have to do a SAVE LAYOUT.
Re: Global History
Yes, the default is only at scripting.
There is no best setting, as everyone has other needs.
Do you experience any issues?
I’ll take a look why the new Force settings doesn’t persist…

Re: Global History
Previously, we experienced artist repetition because the global song history was set too low on our end. Now, increasing it works well and provides a nice variety.
In EXTENDED HISTORY CHECK, I set the number of tracks to 0 and only set it to 180 min. Because, as is known, when someone creates a playlist, tracks appear in the GLOBAL HISTORY. Or is there a difference between EXTENDED GLOBAL HISTORY and GLOBAL HISTORY?
Thanks in advance for the info. It is a great program to work with.
